Offering more efficient and convenient travel for its passengers, Qatar Airways, the Doha-based international airline of the State of Qatar, has announced new visas upon arrival to Qatar and increased flights between London Heathrow and Doha.

The new visa system will be available for visitors from the United States and 32 other countries. It applies to both Tourist and Business visas, which are valid for two weeks and extendable through the main downtown Immigration Department. The visa fee is approximately US$15 (Qatari Riyals 55) per adult and US$7 (Qrs25) per child, and a money exchange facility is available next to the visa counter. There is no requirement for prior sponsorship, though visitors must hold an outward or return ticket as well as a valid passport.

In addition to visas, Qatar Airways will be increasing its daily service between London Heathrow and Doha to eleven times a week, effective June 13, 2002. Qatar Airways plans to add a second daily flight on Tuesdays and Thursdays, similar to the existing double daily service on Monday and Saturday afternoons. The new flights offer passengers a daytime departure from Heathrow on these four days, as well as the daily evening departure.

From Heathrow, flight QR006 leaves at 3:15 pm on Monday and Saturdays and 1:00 pm on Thursday, while the QR008 departs at 9:40 am on Tuesday. These new flights are in addition to Qatar Airways existing daily service to Doha-QR002, departing Heathrow at 8:15 pm, arriving Doha at 6:15 am. Qatar Airways will operate these flights with A300-600R aircraft, seating 12 in First Class, 18 in Business Class and 194 in Economy.

As the State of Qatars flagship carrier, Qatar Airways provides premier and quality service to its passengers, and has established itself as a respected regional and international airline. Qatar Airways serves a network of 28 destinations in Europe, Middle East, Indian Sub-continent and Asia, including new routes to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and the Maldives.
