KonaWare and MJM Technologies Partner to Deliver the First Mobile Framework Using a Standards-Based Java and J2ME Architecture
Turnkey deployment of mission critical transactional enterprise applications for the mobile workforce
REDWOOD CITY, CA --January 30, 2002-- KonaWare, a privately held software company, and MJM Technologies, Inc., a leading CRM consulting services firm, today announced a partnership to deliver Java-based mobile applications to enterprises, municipalities, and government. The partnership will provide a comprehensive, long-term solution to deliver transactional capabilities to field based users that require both connected and disconnected operation on any mobile device and wireless network.
Under the partnership, KonaWare and MJM Technologies will jointly sell and deliver turnkey mobile solutions to customers worldwide. KonaWares mobile software framework leverages existing application server environments (J2EE or XML/SOAP) and reuses common IT skill sets (Java, XML) to optimize the mobile experience and maximize IT investments. KonaWare provides significant advantages over competitors that built products on proprietary server and software components using WAP/WML that add unnecessary overhead and maintenance costs. The KonaWare solution provides pre-built, configurable mobile components that tightly integrate with the native application logic and presentation so any changes to the native application will be reflected in the mobile application without extensive modifications.
Under the agreement, MJM Technologies provides SmartStart Implementation Services that ensure high quality and rapid deployment. Together, the two companies are significantly lowering the cost of entry to mobile applications.
KonaWare has an advantage over the competition because we do what was technically impossible just one year ago," said Gary Portney, KonaWares President and CEO. The alliance with MJM Technologies provides an ideal partner in delivering quality integrated mobile solutions to customers. MJM is a pioneer in the front office services market and demonstrates the key role that consulting firms can play in the planning and deployment of mobile workforce solutions."
Anybody with experience in transaction management will be impressed with the integrity and security in these applications," said Alex Hammer, Vice-President of Business Development at MJM Technologies. All of our competitors are still dealing with the WAP security gaps and expensive separate mobile platforms. By partnering with KonaWare, we can now deliver mobile applications and infrastructure at lower cost points, deploy them more quickly, and maintain them more efficiently. KonaWares small footprint applications for phones, hand-held computing devices (PDAs), and laptops are easily customizable and allow users to do business even in disconnected modes."
Unlike proprietary mobile platforms, KonaWares solution is built from the ground up as an open architecture, pure Java solution for easy management and seamless integration with existing application logic and database access methods. Deploying KonaWares mobile framework and applications provides significant cost savings and enhanced mobile user experiences to support critical, field-based applications across the enterprise. Currently the MJM and KonaWare partnership sells and implements Sales Force Automation (SFA), logistics, field service solutions, and custom applications.
