In Florida, he spear-heads the Comprehensive Health Information Systems Council for Governor Jeb Bush, and serves as the Medical Anthrax Expert for CBS News in south Florida. Dr Thorpe also serves as a teaching Faculty Member in the area of Health Policy and Administration for the University of Phoenix Online, serves on the Board of Advisors for The Asheville School, the Legislative Board for Kidz 2000 and Beyond, and the Board of Directors for Church by the Sea in Bal Harbour, Florida.
Dr. Thorpe completed his post-graduate Medical training at Tulane University Medical Center and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Thorpe has a Master of Public Health Degree in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Public Health. Dr. Thorpe completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Duke University, and he is a graduate of The Asheville School.
