Amateur Golf Tour Launches-Tournament play for the above par golfer

This Press release announces the launch of an Amateur Golf Tour.

AUBURN, MASSACHUSETTS - February 12, 2002 -- The Central Massachusetts Amateur Golf Tour, headquartered in Auburn, announces the launch of an amateur golf tour. The tour will consist of over 50 golf tournaments on both public and private courses. Members will have the ability to compete for trophies, a prize fund and free membership. Our goal is to provide a competitive yet casual atmosphere for both low and high handicap golfers. Tournaments will be played on some of the best public and private courses in the country. Our schedule will give members the option of playing on weekdays or weekends. We also provide our members the ability to reserve tee times in the tournaments of their choice. Essentially, we offer the benefits of a private club without the huge expense and monotony of playing the same course over and over again", said company co-founder Joe Beaulac. Members are not required to have an official USGA handicap card in order to play. Temporary handicaps will be assigned based on a players average score. Members will receive official handicap cards once the required minimum numbers of rounds are submitted. The tour is open to both men and women. Members pay a membership fee and then per tournament entry fees. The first tournament is scheduled for April 13th.
