retire undefeated, with a record of 49 wins and 43 knockouts. Featherweight champion Willie Pep had to change his name from Guglielmo Papaleo in order to duck prejudice and get a title shot. The Bronx Bull,Jake LaMotta, had a granite chin and a burning desire to win. Other Italian American boxing legends include Carmen Basilio, Rocky Graziano, Ray Boom Boom" Mancini, Roland LaStarza and many others.
