BLUEKITE AND SIERRA WIRELESS TO OFFER BUNDLED WIRELESS SOLUTION TO END USERS

BlueKite and Sierra Wireless announced an agreement that will allow the companies to offer a bundled wireless solution to enhance Internet browsing on wireless devices.

San Francisco, February 13, 2002 - BlueKite, a leading mobile Internet software provider, and Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSE: SW) announced today an agreement that will allow the companies to offer a bundled wireless solution to enhance Internet browsing on wireless devices. The joint solution will involve BlueKite compression technology and Sierra Wireless products, which will enhance the wireless Internet browsing experience while using laptops, PDAs, and other mobile devices. The wireless solution will enable fast and reliable access to the Internet at speeds equivalent to a 56 kbps fixed-line connection, which is similar to the user experience when dialing up Internet services at home. The WirelessReadyä Alliance continues to build momentum as industry leaders like BlueKite and Sierra Wireless work together and deliver complete wireless data solutions to a growing mobile market.

Currently, BlueKite's bandwidth optimization software is bundled with the Sierra Wireless AirCardÒ 510 wireless network card for use on the Sprint PCS CDMA network. Under the terms of the new agreement, BlueKite's technology will be offered to users of the Sierra Wireless AirCard 300, the first wireless wide area (WAN) network card for the CDPD network. The agreement is not exclusive to the AirCard 300, as it also includes the option of bundling BlueKite software with other devices in Sierra Wireless's diverse product line.

"Sierra Wireless is one of the world leaders in wireless data modems and enabling software and we are delighted to expand our partnership with them through the initiatives of the WirelessReady Alliance," said Eric Colard, Vice President of Business Development, BlueKite. "It is through partnerships with device manufacturers such as Sierra Wireless that BlueKite aims to expand the use of its client software to the mass market."

The WirelessReadyä Alliance is composed of wireless device manufacturers, software application vendors, and value-added enterprise service providers, who provide products or services that assist in the delivery of wireless solutions. Alliance members work together to create compelling end-to-end wireless data solutions with the overall goal of increasing the rate of mobile computing adoption by enriching the experience of the mobile user.

"Sierra Wireless is committed to the goals of the WirelessReady Alliance and creating innovative wireless solutions with partners like BlueKite," said Mark McMillan, Vice President of Marketing, Sierra Wireless. "BlueKite's software has already proved popular on the Sierra Wireless AirCard 510 for Sprint PCS and we are looking forward to working with them to implement more solutions with our wide range of wireless products. As mobile users demand improved mobile Internet performance we will continue to work with our partners to deliver complete wireless solutions."

Mobile users may also visit the BlueKite website (www.bluekite.com) where the client solution is available for download. Since September 2001, BlueKite has made it possible to download its client software from the website and run it from BlueKite servers located in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific for a small annual fee.
