eCriteria Enterprise Version Launches

New Features Suited for Corporate Enterprise Environment

Culver City, CA -- February 20, 2002 eCriteria is pleased to announce today the release of the new Enterprise Version of the Web-hosted database publishing facility. Designed specifically for use in an enterprise setting, eCriteria Enterprise offers a significant array of new features including the ability to create groups of users that must login to the database in order to access their own records. Further, using a set of access privileges, Enterprise Data Authors may assign administrative access to users needing global access to the data.

eCriteria Enterprise addresses the increased data access security needs commonly required in corporate departments. A Human Resources department director, for example, may easily create a time-card keeping system for hourly employees. The director creates the database, adds users (employees) to the database, assigns privileges for each user, creates custom login, data entry, and search forms using eCriterias HTML generation tools, and quickly attaches the database to the corporate intranet or enterprise portal site.

The benefit of building simple enterprise database applications using eCriteria Enterprise is the significant time and cost savings, as there is no software to install, no software upgrades, no server programming involved, and no database knowledge required. eCriteria hosts the data content in a secure environment, while customers are encouraged to regularly back-up eCriteria data to their local network, or workstation.

Organizations of all sizes and industries may choose eCriteria Enterprise over the Microsoft Access database application that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. Many corporate Access users never fully utilize the complex Access database, and instead could use eCriteria as a highly cost effective alternative to expensive Microsoft software licenses.

A Word From the CEO

The eCriteria Enterprise version represents the most significant upgrade to our technology since the web-hosted database facility began operating in early 2000. We listened to the needs of our higher end customers to put together a dynamic feature-set for this new version," says Dan D. Gutierrez, eCriterias founder and CEO. With Enterprise, we hope to make as strong an impression in the corporate space as we did in the global SOHO market."
