Poor Nutrition Proven To Decrease Lifespan

According to a study performed by the American Cancer Society (and published in the New England Journal of Medicine) elevated body-mass (which primarily comes from poor nutrition and lack of exercise) is directly related to shorter life spans. Although most people are aware that poor nutrition can lead to obesity and life threatening diseases, many don't take the steps they should to improve their diets. The reasons primarily stated are lack of time and a distaste for 'diet food'. These two obstacles have recently been overcome.

CENTENNIAL, Colo., February 18, 2002 -- According to a study performed by the American Cancer Society (and published in the New England Journal of Medicine) elevated body-mass (which primarily comes from poor nutrition and lack of exercise) is directly related to shorter life spans. Although most people are aware that poor nutrition can lead to obesity and life threatening diseases, many don't take the steps they should to improve their diets. The reasons primarily stated are lack of time and a distaste for 'diet food'. These two obstacles have recently been overcome.

Those with busy schedules and hectic lifestyles often neglect their nutrition stating that there isnt time to find recipes, shop for ingredients and prepare healthy meals. Others complain that nutritious recipes lack in taste or consistency.

Services such as Health-E-Meals (www.health-e-meals.com) now offer quick and healthy recipes, snacks, fitness tips, motivational hints, and recommended Web links. Created by Erin Rogers, a busy work-at-home mom with two children, this site is devoted to providing help for those on the go who still want to eat nutritiously.

Recipes come with nutritional information, time-saving tips and side dish suggestions. A 'Throw-Together feature offers insights on how to pick up a few ingredients at the grocery store and quickly prepare a healthy meal with minimal preparation work or cooking.

The Health-E-Meals Weekly newsletter makes quality nutrition accessible to those on the go by offering simple solutions for delicious and healthy foods. By having this information delivered to them on a regular basis, consumers are better able to select foods that benefit the body, taste good and promote a longer lifespan.
