Convergys Announces Second Releases of both Activation Manager and Mediation Manager
Convergys continues commitment to its expanded global billing product portfolio supported by its innovative next-generation framework
(PRWEB) February 22, 2002 - Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), the global leader in integrated billing and customer care services, announced today the availability of its second releases of both Convergys Activation Manager and Convergys Mediation Manager. Advanced new features give service providers unparalleled flexibility, control, and ease in configuring services on network elements for both activation and mediation, capabilities that are critical within the emerging next-generation environment.
Convergys is the only company to provide convergent activation and mediation solutions as either a stand-alone modular solution or as part of an integrated end-to-end wireless billing product.
Convergys introduced its Activation Manager and Mediation Manager modules in November 2001 as part of an expanded global product and services portfolio built on the company's next-generation framework. These modules are available as stand-alone products that integrate easily with a client's existing OSS environment or can be packaged as part of a broader Convergys solution.
"The high performance and rich functionality of our Activation Manager and Mediation Manager position these modules as the solution of choice with service providers requiring advanced provisioning and mediation capabilities," said Bob Marino, President of Convergys Information Management Group. "With the new functionality announced today, our clients have greater capabilities to activate services on network elements to realize quick time-to-market advantage with next-generation offerings, control their costs, and deploy revenue assurance safeguards."
Highlights of Convergys Activation Manager include:
„« Client Configuration of Services on Network Elements -- Operators can self-configure generic services on network elements via a user-friendly, Web-based interface. This capability greatly facilitates the ability to add, provision, and manage new service offerings, and achieve first-to-market advantage.
„« Other highlights include numerous network element enhancements to areas such as link and steering administration, error mapping, and parameter mapping.
Activation Manager is a stand-alone provisioning solution for convergent wireless voice and data, IP and cable and broadband services with integrated prepaid and postpaid capabilities. Activation Manager easily integrates with billing systems and networks through established APIs and toolkits.
Highlights of Convergys Mediation Manager include:
„« Configurable Network Element Interfaces -- Operators can add and configure network elements via a user-friendly Web-based interface. Coding changes are not required, enhancing the operators' control, flexibility, and efficiency in mediating new service offerings and allowing them to improve their time-to-market.
„« Other highlights include prepaid voice over IP (VoIP), prepaid service control point (SCP) interfaces, operator-definable event correlation, and stream-based collection and distribution. Additional enhancements to Convergys' CIBER and TAP3 functionality allow operators to offer global roaming, and better manage and control roaming records in a common UNIX environment.
Mediation Manager is a stand-alone solution for the convergent wireless, IP, and fixed services markets. The module integrates easily with billing systems and networks, providing convergent usage mediation, integrated network-based prepaid and postpaid capabilities, and revenue assurance via a configurable Web-based GUI.
Convergys' modular and scalable product line of end-to-end billing products, application modules, and preintegrated application suites enables communication providers to create fully integrated billing and customer care environments that are highly adaptable, reliable, and cost-effective. Convergys products are based on its proven and innovative next-generation framework, a convergent component-based architecture that provides unsurpassed flexibility, investment protection, and support for convergent services.
Convergys solutions are available in flexible delivery models, including licensed, outsourced, and build-operate-transfer.
