Business Students and Performing Artists Join Forces for Entertainment and Education as
The WSU Association of Black Business Students Presents Fire and Ice
DETROIT-- Dynamic talent of diverse genres will come together for an exciting evening of entertainment to benefit scholarships for graduating high school students.
On Saturday, March 30, 2002, 7-9 p.m., Wayne State Universitys Association of Black Business Students (ABBS) will host "Fire and Ice," a talent showcase and tribute to performing arts education.
The event -- featuring singers, dancers, hip-hop artists, musicians and poets -- will be held at WSUs McGregor Community Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $10. All proceeds will be donated to provide scholarships for deserving high school seniors planning to pursue higher education.
The ABBS will present the scholarships during the showcase, which also features a mini documentary highlighting the making of Fire and Ice and a tribute to late recording artists Aaliyah, Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur.
Special invited guests include: Angel Duss (7Bills Entertainment -- Toronto), Men of 21 (Black Team), Jamil (Digital Diva Entertainment), Unbreakable (Hard Life Entertainment), Changing Tymes Dance Drill Team and Arnetta Mosby (Canaan Entertainment).
Approximately 600 guests are expected to attend. The official Fire and Ice After Party will follow the show. A free pre-show is scheduled for March 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at WSUs Student Center. Show organizers hope to make the prestigious showcase and annual event. Sponsors include: Fubu Entertainment, Noize Entertainment, WB 20, WJLB 97.9 and WDTJ 105.9.
