The American Bar Association offers this interdisciplinary program featuring noted tort lawyers and litigators, public health specialists and government officials examining critical environmental considerations in the context of terrorism.
Panels address preparing for terrorism, responding to terrorism, clean-up and financing, and "future torts." Discussions will include concrete lessons learned from the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center; proposals for site security; evolving causes of action; insurance considerations; legal, regulatory and administrative constraints and opportunities; and more. Luncheon keynote presentation by Dr. Dale Klein, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Chemical and Biological Defense Programs, U.S. Department of Defense. Program offers CLE, course materials, networking breaks and a reception. Fees vary; discounts for government, academics, NGOs and students.
