UNCASVILLE CT - A year-round EZDefense course available at Dynamic Karate helps students reduce fear and intimidation and increase self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness.
EZDefense consists of three separate courses totaling nine hours. Participants may opt to take the first one or two courses alone.
EZDefense provides real-life learning which stays in the brain's deepest learning centers indefinitely. The teaching methodology is based upon Olympic coaching, criminal psychology, and sports psychology.
Level One EZDefense Verbal Boundaries is an interactive seminar that requires no coordination, fitness or contact. Instructors Kristina Powell and Mark Blake create lifelike scenarios to evoke the adrenaline stress response in students.
Participants first learn about society's spatial boundaries, then move on to assertive body language and maintaining verbal boundaries during an interview by a potential assailant. Mark Blake plays the "woofer". Blake accosts students individually ala true assailant. Kristina Powell gets in the fray and coaches students on the proper verbal and physical responses. Blake uses disguises and profanity in diverse scenarios to create realism. Level One finishes with the Portal of Safety, an adrenaline-boosting escape scenario.
At Level Two students learn simple striking techniques that use large muscle motor skills. They then face realistic confrontations in which they combine Level One verbal boundaries with striking. Reviews of Levels One and Two and ground fighting round out Level Three.
EZDefense has been developed and perfected by instructors worldwide over the last 30 years. It uses only what's been proven to work in real situations, techniques that are simple to learn and easy to use when under adrenaline stress. Ninety year-old grandmothers have defended themselves using this training. It is not uncommon for a graduate of adrenaline-based courses to find themselves forced to use the techniques, successfully, 10 or more years after learning them and having long since forgotten about the course.
