CSK Auto Selects Unibars BARZ_OUT Bar Code Printing Software To Improve Store Efficiency Over 1100 Stores To Be Automated

Rochester Hills, MI -- February 6, 2002 -- Unibar Inc. today announced that CSK Auto, Inc. (NYSE:CAO), a leading auto parts retail specialty chain, has selected BARZ_OUT bar code printing software for automating the retail procedure in its 1100 stores throughout 19 western states. The Phoenix-based company has selected the Unibar software because of its full support of the variety of printer types found throughout the CSK Auto stores, as well as its easy integration with the companys custom Point of Sale (POS) software.

Installing Unibars software will take many days off our development efforts by eliminating the need to write code for each printer platform we use throughout our stores," said Mike Marshall, CSK Autos Application Development Manager for POS Platforms. We intend to add bar codes to receipts in different areas of operation in each store to improve efficiency. This will involve a variety of printer types."

The bar code implementation is part of CSK Autos on-going effort to increase productivity and improve store systems, said Marshall. Bar codes will be used on all receipts printed on cash registers to improve tracking and hasten the return process if needed. In addition, bar codes will be printed on the back-counter parts procurement tickets to improve check-out time at the front cash register.
