IDP and SysMedia team up to provide content creation and management solution across multiple platforms
IDP & SysMedia Limited will integrate the RegieLine (IDP) and PLASMA MAGENTA (SysMedia) technologies to deliver content and services across multiple hardwares and devices.
Cannes, 6th February 2002 - IDP, a leading provider of cross-platform publishing tools to the interactive television market and SysMedia, the leading provider of systems for the creation and management of digital text services in Europe, have just signed a joint marketing and technical agreement to ensure that broadcasters with existing teletext services will be able to seamlessly migrate and enrich their interactive services onto digital television networks.
The new solution, integrating the RegieLine (IDP) and PLASMA MAGENTA (SysMedia) technologies will provide teletext operators and information providers with the ability to deliver their content and services across multiple middlewares and multiple devices through a proven and existing infrastructure.
Broadcasters will also be able to develop more than simple text based pages and will be able to deliver rich content services including portals, virtual magazines, transactional services such as shopping and betting, enhanced TV and interactive advertising.
Speaking on the announcement, Charlie Horrell, CEO of IDP said: Integrating PLASMA MAGENTA with RegieLines technology will help to remove many of the barriers which have prevented existing broadcasters from moving into the digital space, whilst at the same time delivering a flexible and extendable infrastructure for the development of more advanced services, not only on multiple iTV platforms, but also on other wireless devices such as WAP or PDAs."
Colin Prior, Business Development Director of SysMedia, added, SysMedias PLASMA MAGENTA technology allows broadcasters to deliver enhanced information services. In a multi-platform world, it clearly makes sense to author this information once, and publish it many times to multiple publication platforms. Our combined technologies will allow our customers to reach many more interactive television platforms across continental Europe, significantly enhancing the commercial potential of these services."
