"Designed in the USA, LLC" established to connect cash needy USA high tech
manufacturers with cash ready Asian companies.
February 27th, 2002, San Jose, CA- Founders of the new Silicon Valley
based "Designed in the USA, LLC" recently toured Asian rim manufacturing
firms from Taipei to Beijing to conduct a technology assessment.
They confirmed the findings of other US companies who have made in roads
into these markets: the high tech industry is thriving in Asia, and especially
in China.
With the recent entrance to the World Trade Organization, and plans for the
Beijing 2008 Olympics, China and surrounding markets are experiencing
a growth phase like they have never seen before. According to Salomon
Smith Barney, as reported in the China Daily newspaper, "... the information
technology sector in China will continue to grow at a phenomenal pace with
hardware sales spearheading growth."
Rich Morgan, co-founder and CTO of "Designed in the USA, LLC" said,
| | - found all forms of technology from Java to SQL, and high definition TV
| to Raid 5 disk storage arrays, Hong Kong and mainland China are building
and deploying a vast range of technologies. They have a young, well-educated
labor force ready to manufacture and market high tech products. Many of their
engineering ranks have studied and worked in western markets and are
beginning the design and development phase of creating new products. But it
will take several years for their designs to achieve the levels of performance
and reliability that enable them to compete in global markets."
The U.S.A is suffering through a recession that has deprived many second tier
high tech companies of the cash needed to complete leading edge designs,
and bring them to market. New and innovative designs that have evolved from
the testing grounds of the dot-com era may be lost in the mergers and
bankruptcies now plaguing the high tech landscape.
Jim Gaylord, co-founder of "Designed in the USA, LLC", and former Hong Kong
businessman, describes the Asian side of the equation: "Chinese and other
Asian companies must continue the rapid economic progress of the last twenty
years, in order to satisfy the increased expectations of its people. Chinese
companies can take a great technology leap forward by manufacturing high
tech products developed in the U.S.A."
"Many U.S.A. companies have cash needs and great products," Gaylord
explains, "but risk going out of business and leaving very good high tech
products to go to waste. Selling licenses to manufacture and market their field
tested products in Asia can be the essential lifeline that carries them through
the economic downturn."
Many CEOs of Chinese companies are currently searching world wide for field
tested, cost effective solutions they can deliver to manufacturing plants and
sales channels.
Ms. Sunny Li, CFO and co-founder of "Designed in the USA, LLC", and a native
of Beijing, explains: "I speak with many CEO's and general managers from
Shanghai and Beijing, daily, who are trying to find high tech products such as
storage devices, network appliances, user authentication solutions, security
appliances, and wireless products that they can build and sell in China.
Chinese companies already have the manufacturing capacity and the
marketing and distribution networks they need to sell vast quantities of
quality high tech products."
The ongoing quest to build business relationships with the west will allow
Asian countries to meet up to the challenges of living and competing in a
world economy.
