CHORUS MOTORS plc ANNOUNCES CHORUS MOTOR® PWM PATENT

Chorus Motors plc, a subsidiary of Borealis Exploration Limited (BOREF),
announces that a patent, titled "Drive Wave Form Synchronization For Induction
Motors", No. 6,348,775, was issued by the United States Patent and Trademark
Office on February 19th, 2002. Further patent applications related to the
Chorus® technology and polyphase motors are pending.

The Chorus® Motor uses new controllers and windings to substantially increase
the efficiency of AC motors. For more information about Chorus® see the Chorus

Characteristics of the Chorus® Motor include very high start-up torque and
greater efficiency, within standard operating temperature limits. Tests have
shown marked improvements over conventional AC motors. Chorus® Motors are
especially well-suited to traction applications, such as hoists, conveyors,
electric and hybrid-electric vehicles.

The patent describes a new technique for pulse width modulation (PWM) in which
the PWM, which normally degrades the performance of conventional 3-phase motors,
does not degrade the performance of a Chorus® drive. The technique makes special
use of the tolerance Chorus® drives have for harmonic content to use PWM without
energy losses due to pulsation, something that 3-phase motors cannot do.
