EH Expo Spring 2002

Three Free Connected Home Keynote Sessions Highlight EHX Conference Track
March 6-9 in Orlando, Florida

   Orlando, Fla., March 6, 2002 -- Connected communities, the home PC market and digital home technology of the present and future are detailed and discussed in three keynote presentations scheduled at the Electronic House Expo Spring 2002 (EHX) March 6-9, 2002 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla, which are free to all EHX attendees.

   Across the country, developers of housing communities are striving to achieve the ultimate high-tech connected community. Homeowners, builders and developers are working together to create counties, villages and developments with a technological infrastructure complete with online services and capabilities necessary to connect neighbors, houses and local institutions into a single tight-knit community. Mark Schmidt, vice president of marketing for Home Director Inc., will head a keynote panel how to make this connectivity a reality in other communities. Creating Connected Communities" will take place on Thursday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m.

   Julie Jacobson, editor in chief of Home Networking News, will lead a panel of experts from four leading companies to discuss the current state of the home PC market and what the future will bring to this challenging industry. The panel will discuss the liability and technical expertise vital to the success of the home PC industry. Issues such as service pricing, labor requirements, technical considerations, call-center management, manufacturer support and marketing will be addressed. The discussion also will include a survey of the training and education programs available to home systems professionals looking to tap into the home PC services market. Cashing in on the Home PC Market" takes place on Thursday, March 7 at noon.

   Rounding out the EHX keynote track is a look into the future of the digital home by Jim Hunter, technical evangelist for Premise Systems. Veteran Hunter will provide his vision for technology available for the connected home. This futuristic look into home intelligence entitled Software Powers in the Digital Home" will take place on Friday, March 8 at noon.
