iAssessment, a leading provider of skill evaluation and professional development services for the education market, announced a user group to encourage collaboration among its customers, obtain feedback and promote collective bargaining of its products.
SALT LAKE CITY -- February 26, 2002 -- iAssessment, a leading provider of skill evaluation and professional development services for the education market, today launched a new user group to encourage collaboration among its customers and to obtain user feedback for product development. Called iAssessment Consortium, the group is currently comprised of educators from Arizona, California and Indiana working together to find ways to leverage technology and improve education.
Education has become a national priority with the enactment of the Education Reform Bill. Members of iAssessment Consortium believe that technology can greatly improve educational standards by helping to thoroughly assess educator skills and school needs as a necessary step toward true education reform," said Dan Cookson, co-founder of iAssessment. iAssessment Consortium explores effective ways to apply technology in the classroom and for educator training with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of education."
iAssessment Consortium is a forum for collaboration and strategic planning, giving iAssessment customers a voice in the product development process. Members provide valuable feedback and discuss requirements for future products, helping iAssessment develop software that meets the changing needs of schools, districts and states. Additionally, iAssessment Consortium enables and encourages collective bargaining among its customers to provide the best possible pricing for its software.
iAssessment Consortium goes beyond the traditional user group, actively promoting collaboration among the membership with an opportunity to collectively bargain for iAssessment services. iAssessment is working through this group to help us meet our goals and stay within budget through technology," said Gary Quiring, consultant to the California Department of Education. In education, budgets can be very lean, requiring a level of creativity to find the right solution. iAssessment is working with its customers to understand this and find new ways to provide critical services for todays challenges in education."
Founding members of the consortium include representatives from three of the companys original clients, including Kathryn Kilroy representing Arizonas My Compass (mycompass.asset.asu.edu), Gary Quiring representing Californias CTAP2 (ctap2.iassessment.org), and Marv Bailey representing Indianas MyTarget (mytarget.iassessment.org). The iAssessment Consortium is planning a series of on-going roundtable discussions to be held at various industry forums throughout the year.
