Children, Families, Community, and Staff get "head start" with emotional intelligence training!
Colorado Springs, CO Head Start agency launches an innovative emotional intelligence training program for teachers and staff that can lead to a better future for kids. Emotional Intelligence is a term made popular by Daniel Golemans 1995 bestseller. Emotional Intelligence: Why it can matter more than IQ, and identifies a set of self-awareness, self-management and social skills. Business researchers have found that of the competencies needed for career success 67% are emotional. There is also mounting evidence of EQs potential for improving child development, reducing violence in our schools, and streets, and increasing collaboration and teamwork.
