Cambridge, UK -- March 5, 2002 -- Neurascript Ltd., leaders in sophisticated data capture and forms processing solutions, will be showcasing its full line of recognition and keying products with all new features at AIIM 2002 Show in San Francisco, March 5-8, Booth 611.
Centre stage will be Neurascripts flagship Recognition module that recently benefited from a host of technology advancements that increase the accuracy of the character recognition process and widen the scope of automatic data capture to the most complex document types. These features include:
· An improved internal voting mechanism between Neurascripts proprietary Neural Network and Bayesian Character Modelling technologies that reduces false positives whilst maintaining the highest recognition rates.
· Multiple improvements to the segmentation and text location algorithms used for processing tabular format data, such as that found on invoices.
· New functionality for recognising multiple check boxes, for applications such as survey processing, with rapid set-up times and robust processing of badly filled-in forms.
· A powerful new method for segmenting characters that gives improved recognition on densely printed document such as comfiche images where lines of text are often very close.
Neurascript will also be debuting its new Scripted Export module and Stats Reporter tool. Neurascripts Scripted Export module provides an efficient and comprehensive method for exporting data to external data repositories. It allows individual manipulation and validation of data via user- defined script functions and provides support for data export to a file or an ODBC database, and the communication of exported results via email. Scripted Export runs silently with no operator intervention required. Script objects are provided to access the exported information and to support the export of this data into external storage.
Neurascripts Stats Reporter tool is a powerful reporting utility that enables supervisor and system administrators to analyse the performance of each of the components of the capture suite. Stats Reporter creates reports based on data exported to any ODBC database by the Neurascript Scripted Export module. Key features include: standard reports derived from comprehensive statistics generated by Neurascript modules; customized reports using an intuitive but powerful report designer; reports including data or statistics extracted from other sources.
Recent developments with Neurascripts other data capture products will also be demonstrated:
· Correction now has enhanced set-up options including control over interface layout.
· Completion now has batch-level data loading and the ability to view multiple images simultaneously to aid batch reconciliation.
· Neurascripts Definer tool now has online context sensitive help to enable easy reference to the parameters and rapid set-up of multiple check box fields.

About Neurascript
Headquartered in Cambridge, United Kingdom, Neurascript supply automatic data capture solutions for high volume document processing. With a view to maximising the performance of organisations information, Neurascript has created a highly scalable and robust data capture solution to achieve this. Neurascripts modules are all that are necessary to convert scanned document images into clean and verified data for use in other business processes. Capabilities are not just limited to traditional forms processing, as semi-structured or unstructured documents can be captured with a high degree of automation. Neurascripts advanced recognition and text-processing technology uses a combination of the latest neural network techniques and Bayesian Character Modelling recognising and converting hand print and machine print into useable data.
Neurascripts products do much more than just read characters; they streamline the gathering of data from paper documents and electronic forms. There are four key modules: Recognition, a high accuracy recognition engine that automatically extracts machine print, hand print, barcodes and check marks from document images; Correction, a super-fast and efficient reject repair module; Completion, a validation module offering high-volume key-from-image/key-from-paper capabilities; Scripted Export, a flexible and configurable module for exporting data and images to external repositories.
Neurascript was formed in 1998 from the Character Recognition Group of Neurodynamics, a world leader in development of pattern recognition solutions. Mike Lynch founded Neurodynamics in 1991. It has successfully incubated and spun off three companies, Autonomy, Neurascript and, most recently, NCorp. Neurascript boasts an impressive customer and partner base, which has enabled the company to achieve consistent growth and profitability. For more information visit http://www.neurascript.com
