Charlotte, NC is deploying the Microsoft Content Management Server to enable its staff to successfully update and maintain all of its Web content. With a population over 700,000, the City of Charlotte and the County of Mecklenburg must ensure that their web site contains the most current information.

Charlotte and Mecklenburg County are true examples of the "New South". Located on the border between the two Carolinas, it is the center of the country's fifth largest urban region with approximately six million people living within a 100-mile radius. The area offers all the advantages and amenities of a growing urban center while retaining the charm and nature of small town southern hospitality.

The flexibility of the Microsoft Content Management Server will enable a larger number of the governments contributors to update site content using an easy-to-use tool and structured workflow processes. Using the Microsoft Content Management Server, government staff can delegate the task of departmental content management to all department heads. Many different content contributors across the City and County can update web site content.
