HGTV PROGRAM FEATURING ACTIV GLASS ON HOME BUILDERS SHOW SPECIAL
Pilkington Activ Self-Cleaning Glass will be one of the Best of Show" products featured on an Home & Garden TV (HGTV) program. The program will air in April and is a recap of the 2002 International Builders Show (IBS).
Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A. -- Pilkington Activ Self-Cleaning Glass will be one of two Best of Show" products featured by reporter Barbara Sloan on an April Home & Garden TV program about the 2002 International Builders Show (IBS).

Pilkingtons 2002 IBS exhibit, which featured Pilkington Activ Glass, attracted great interest from homebuilders, designers, architects, window manufacturers and dealers, etc. More than 71,000 people attended the IBS Feb. 8-11 in Atlanta.

Secondly, when it rains, water sheets off of the active (exterior) surface washing away any undissolved dirt and eliminating any streaks or water spots. This is called the hydrophilic or water sheeting" effect.
After being installed, windows with Pilkington Activ Self-Cleaning Glass need to be charged" by UV light for several days to activate the PhotoActiv and hydrophilic properties. Once activated, the self-cleaning process will continue to work at night and even on cloudy days.
Pilkington Activ Glass can be used in new and replacement windows, transoms and skylights in homes, apartments and condominiums. It can also be used in commercial and institutional buildings, such as offices, schools and universities, retail stores, etc.
