Beehive Software has teamed up with globalX Technologies, a national network integrator, to provide complete file transfer services to printers, prepress houses, publishers and all their customers and affiliates. GlobalX uses Beehive secure, file transfer software coupled with IBM Internet appliance hardware, MCI-Worldcomm bandwidth and InterLand hosting to give printers all the file transfer components they need, with just one monthly fee.

GlobalX was formed to begin offering an open systems file transfer alternative to "proprietary file transfer" systems like WAMNet, VIO and Mass Transit. The globalX "X2X" solution uses standard Internet Bandwidth, hosting services and appliances to deliver VERY large files (typically in excess of 500MB). Many IT managers at printing and publishing companies do not want to continue to maintain proprietary systems in parallel with their corporate Internet connectivity. X2X ensures that "File Transfer" is an integrated component of a "Standards-Based" Internet facility.

X2X is the most cost effective solution for very high volume environments. X2X monthly costs are typically 50% of the costs of WAMNet, and customers do not face the 5-figure start-up costs of Mass Transit. Customers can choose to implement a low cost, entry level ASP-based system and then migrate to the "Industrial-Strength" stand-alone appliance solution.

X2X is based on the widely installed Beehive file transfer system. Beehive is the most feature rich product of its kind available today. The Beehive product line is designed to support "customer choice" - choice of client platform (Mac, Win, Browser), choice of implementation (ASP or appliance), and choice of ISP (use your own ISP). Beehive is also a completely customizable application that permits the addition of custom forms, images and workflows. Beehive "Smart forms" allow the built-in, Beehive html forms to be embedded with special applets that can accomplish a wide variety of collateral tasks such as on-line job quoting, air courier waybills, special database integration and more. The Beehive file manager also allows the system administrator to choose "ala carte" from a long list of automated file processing tasks including, file retrieval, file decompression, file decoding, receipts, notifications, forms printing, auto-print queueing, scripting and more.

"We chose to integrate Beehive Software into our X2X WAMNet replacement solution because of Beehive's rich feature-set and it's SSL-secure https support. Fortune 500 customers require that their print vendors offer secure transfer of sensitive advertising and publication documents" ..Mike Holzberg, globalX Technologies.

In December of 2001, Beehive Software replaced ftp, the old Internet standard for file transfer, with Beehive Https - the first multi-platform implementation of a secure, high speed, Https Large-File transfer system using Apache web servers. With the release of Beehive Https - anybody on the Internet can send Gigabyte files to any other user that has a current browser and an email address. This new protocol breakthrough is another piece of the Beehive file transfer framework - designed to bring reliable, secure file transfer solutions to the Graphic Arts, Newspaper and Medical Imaging Industries.

Beehive's multi-platform, secure Beehive Https release, marks another file transfer FIRST to the long list of Beehive file transfer FIRSTS:
