Women In Distress, Inc., in conjunction with BatteredWomen.com, Inc. and BogeysandBirdies.com will host the 1st annual golf tournament to Fight Domestic Violence!

In order for us to provide services necessary to help battered women and teenage girls put an end to the pain, suffering and cycle of domestic violence that plague their lives every day, we are holding our 1st Annual Golf Tournament to Fight Domestic Violence.

The funds raised through this golf event will help to empower local women and teenage girls as well as help us launch our Stop Talking,Start Walking" campaign across the country. By helping us spread our message across the country you will be helping abused women and teenage girls from all walks of life.

Gina Savage, Founder and President of Women In Distress, Inc., is dedicated to putting an end to the cycle of abuse. Office space has just been donated and she is now located inside of Cypress Paralegal in the Boynton Beach Mall. Through hard work and dedication, Gina has managed to have the office furnitured donated and is looking to build a facility where battered women and teenage girls can find a safe haven and flee, with children. Currently, there are a slim amount of facilities for women with children and they are doomed to a life of abuse or losing the very children they seek to protect, into the "system".

Fran Romeo, our Director of Fundraising and Public Relations brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. An avid golfer herself, Fran with the help of one major hair styling salon, raised over $12,000 in less than a month for breast cancer research with a similar campaign in a much smaller market. We are fortunate to have her company, BogeysandBirdies.com as a sponsor of our web site, www.womenindistress.com. With her golf fundraising experience, guidance and the help of volunteers across the country, our first major fundraiser will help us kick off the Stop Talking, Start Walking" campaign.
