New Web-Based Journal Filing System Provides Privacy and Convenience to the Medical Community

JournalCabinet.com, LLC, a new innovative online organizational filing service company, announced today the launch of the Companys Web site at http://journalcabinet.com, which allows users to quickly and conveniently file, organize and retrieve medical, scientific and professional journal articles online.

POTOMAC, MD -- MARCH 13, 2002 -- JournalCabinet.com, LLC, a new innovative online organizational filing service company, announced today the launch of the Companys Web site at http://journalcabinet.com, which allows users to quickly and conveniently file, organize and retrieve medical, scientific and professional journal articles online.

As a radiologist practicing in Washington, DC, and suburban Maryland, Steven H. Brick, M.D., founded JournalCabinet.com to fulfill a personal need. After years of tediously tearing articles out of medical journals and other publications and stuffing them into his desk, briefcase and filing cabinet, Brick realized that his favorite medical and radiology journals all offered full text copies of their issues online.

In an effort to create a mobile online filing system, he searched for a service that would allow him to file, organize and retrieve his articles online from any computer. When no such service was available, he created one to fit his needs and meet the requirements of other professionals.

"With my old, paper system, I would often be unable to quickly find that specific article that I had saved, or the article would be filed in an office across town," said Steven H. Brick, founder of JournalCabinet.com. "I created a system that permits me to create as many different folder headings as I want, and which even lets me file the same article in multiple folders. This allows me to use standard search terms to retrieve articles I need. Finally, since the system is Web-based, I have access to those articles from any hospital or office."

With more and more doctors utilizing the Internet for medical purposes, JournalCabinet.com is positioned to accommodate the need for reliable and private online organization among professionals. According to Harris Interactive, health care research data show that the proportions of practicing physicians who are online from home, from their personal office areas and their clinical work areas are all increasing. The proportion of all practicing physicians using the Internet has grown in the clinical work area, from 34 percent in 1999 to 40 percent in 2001; in their personal offices, from 51 percent in 1999 to 56 percent in 2001; and at home, from 83 percent in 1999 to 87 percent in 2001.

Developed specifically for physicians, but compatible for all types of professional journals, JournalCabinet.com is the solution for physicians, scientists and other professionals who require an efficient, easily accessible and convenient service to organize their favorite articles and publications.
