Healthcare Industry Seeks CRM Solutions from Oncontact Software

CEDARBURG, WIS. (PRWEB) March 13, 2002 -- Oncontact Software Corporation, a leading developer of customer relationship management (CRM) software for mid-market companies, today announced three new customers in the healthcare arena: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Acurian and Medical One Recruiters.

Oncontact Software has seen a significant increase in healthcare customers over the past year. Oncontact Software's CRM suite, Client Management Software (CMS), is ideal for the health care industry because it can be customized in any way to capture precise information specific to a unique client base. CMS is also extremely easy to use, which allows employees of the fast-paced healthcare industry to master the system quickly without much training time.

"Our customers within the healthcare industry really exploit the flexibility of CMS," said George Kofman, president of Oncontact Software. "Healthcare organizations, perhaps more so than any other industry, have very demanding needs when it comes to the information they capture about their customers. CMS accommodates a company's exact requirements to ensure their CRM system reflects their business."

"Our division deals with thousands of prospects, each with varying needs. Our goal is to make sure that we offer the best product for each individual situation. The unique demographic data that we need to service our prospects is logically maintained in CMS and systematically loaded to our rate quote forms. CMS allows us to achieve our goals in a way that makes our business more efficient," says Paul E. West, Team Leader - Individual Product Systems & Reporting at Blue Cross & Blue Shield United of Wisconsin. "CMS has done wonders to help us know our prospects and understand what we can do to best meet their needs."

Following is a breakdown of a few of Oncontact Software's newest healthcare customers:

•   Blue Cross Blue Shield
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin is part of Cobalt Corporation, one of the nation's leading managed care companies, serving 2.8 million lives in 50 states. Cobalt sells preferred brands of health and dental products that deliver the widest array and strongest combination of benefit plans, funding options and provider networks of any health care organization in Wisconsin.

Blue Cross Blue Shield uses CMS in a pre-sales capacity to record and qualify leads from direct mail and television and radio advertising campaigns. The benefits of CMS for Blue Cross Blue Shield are twofold because the company uses CMS to oversee products for people under 65, as well as products for people over 65.

Blue Cross Blue Shield also tracks the results of each campaign with CMS to assess the payoff of its marketing efforts. With CMS, Blue Cross Blue Shield constantly improves its marketing campaigns because it knows which initiatives produce quality leads.

•   Acurian
Acurian is the leading provider of patient and physician recruitment for clinical trials within the pharmaceutical industry. Acurian has revolutionized recruitment for clinical trials by using technology to help pharmaceutical companies find the patients and physicians needed to conduct a study.

Acurian uses key health-related Internet sites, like cbshealthwatch.com and drcoop.com, to recruit patients and physicians then stores all the contacts in a proprietary database. The database quickly matches patients and doctors with appropriate trials, allowing new drug therapies to reach patients more rapidly. Acurian also offers services to wholly outfit pharmaceutical companies with the resources needed to conduct a trial. Previously, the only method for clinical trial recruitment was television advertising campaigns, which made for a long, cumbersome search process.

Acurian uses CMS from both an account management and sales management perspective. CMS logs each vendor and business partner Acurian works with and defines the relationship. Keeping track of this information is no small task. Not only does Acurian have several contacts at each Internet site, it also has varying degrees of content on each site. Acurian uses CMS to match contacts to specific content on each site. CMS also stores financial information, as well as the number of patients each site brings to Acurian.

This information helps Acurian's sales force understand the dynamic of each customer relationship. As a result, they're well equipped to not only sell the intelligence stored in Acurian's proprietary databases, but also pitch Acurian's value-added services.

•   Medical One Recruiters
Medical One Recruiters provides staffing solutions for health care professionals and employers. Clients include hospitals, clinics and group practices.

Medical One is a brand new business. As a result, the company strongly relies on CMS for account management to record critical client data and create a complete history of each client account. CMS has played a key role in familiarizing Medical One with its clients and aggressively recruiting new ones.

Medical One has found CMS to be particularly useful in profiling job candidates. CMS stores key hiring information, such as years of experience, location, qualifications, job descriptions and salary ranges. Medical One can search CMS by any of these criteria to find ideal job candidates for clients.
Medical One chose CMS because the application offered the full scope of CRM capabilities, including sales, marketing and customer service, yet was affordably priced as a single, packaged solution.
