SIGNAFOR DEVELOPS POWERFUL NEW IP TECHNOLOGIES

Signafor Adds Real-time Congestion Avoidance and Rapid Failure Recovery And Ports its Breakthrough Switched IP to Gigabit Network Processors

Dunn Loring, VA; 11 March 2002 - Signafor, Inc., a developer of patented
switched IP based QoS technologies, announced the availability of two powerful
networking tools -- Rapid Failure Recovery and Congestion Avoidance.
These two new products are now part of Signafor's IP Services Platform,
allowing enterprises and service providers to define and deliver multiple,
differentiated services in real-time.

Signafor's President and CTO, Sham Chakravorty, said, "These new networking
tools have long been sought by network engineers and managers because they
solve the most persistent and troubling problem in today's networks, failure
due to congestion. Without manual intervention and without added heavy
processing, these tools enable networks to 'self-correct' and avoid costly
failures, setting them far ahead of competing technologies. We are very
pleased to announce the introduction of these products as a part of Signafor's
IP Services Platform."

Signafor's technology preserves the distributed architecture of networks
while sidestepping the processing and labeling complexity of competing
technologies. Signafor's switched IP QoS platform creates hop-by-hop
virtual connections in the network using the common routing protocols.
This allows Signafor to route traffic locally without the need for new permanent
route set ups, packet labeling and fragmentation, or label management servers.
This technique is extremely fast and occurs in real time. Thus, when there is
congestion at a node or the node fails, Signafor is able to automatically create
a new path around the troubled node and seamlessly maintain the user session.

"We recently awarded a contract to an offshore software house to build a
wire-speed processor version of switched IP," said Carol Anderson, the
company's Chairman. "We are seeing tremendous traction in the marketplace
and with these new products we are set to begin trials with two major customers.
The last year has not been kind to networking companies, but we have
weathered the worst and with our unique and exceptional technologies
Signafor is poised to take advantage of the market shift," she added.

About Signafor

Signafor licenses advanced switched IP and QoS technology solutions for the
next-generation broadband Internet that enable enterprises and service

in real-time. The resulting benefits are unique service offerings, a significant
improvement in network throughput as well as a significant reduction in
operational and capital costs. For the first time, service providers can deliver
content smart networks that are failure and congestion sensitive and
self-repairing in real-time.

Signafor's high speed switched IP technologies, serving optical, copper and
wireless media, enable the rapid convergence of voice, video and data onto a
single, secure network at dramatically reduced costs. Its innovative solutions
enable carriers, service providers and enterprises to offer their customers a
high degree of differentiated services while at the same time giving them added
tools to reduce network failure risks and congestion. Signafor is pursuing
technology and marketing partnerships with router manufacturers, VoIP
vendors, wireless 3G infrastructure providers, enterprises as well as service
providers who need to establish value-added, high speed, converged media
networks.
