Thrive Provides Inventory Planning Software to the VABC

Thrive Technologies, an Atlanta based provider of supply chain planning software to midsized organizations, today announced that it was selected, after an extensive and highly competitive RFP process, to provide its ClearDayTM forecasting and replenishment software to the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (VABC). The VABC has 257 stores where they sell more than 1,900 brands of distilled spirits and approximately 200 brands of Virginia wine

Thrive Technologies, an Atlanta based provider of supply chain planning software to midsized organizations, today announced that it was selected, after an extensive and highly competitive RFP process, to provide its ClearDayTM forecasting and replenishment software to the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (VABC). The VABC has 257 stores where they sell more than 1,900 brands of distilled spirits and approximately 200 brands of Virginia wine.

VABC is:
• A retail-wholesale business of distilled spirits and Virginia wines with conveniently located outlets statewide;
• A law enforcement agency with eight regional offices and special field agents stationed throughout the Commonwealth;
• A major provider of alcohol-related educational programs and services; and
• A major source of revenue for the Commonwealth, generating yearly profits in excess of $40 million.

Fiscal Year 2001 was the most profitable in VABCs history. Their stores grossed over $382 million and produced net profits of over $41.6 million. Virginia citizens are benefiting from a record $178.5 million in contributions this year from ABC. In Fiscal Year 2001, approximately $18.4 million of profits were distributed directly to localities for education, police, fire, rescue, public works and other projects.
