CHILDSERVS ANNUAL BENEFIT MIXES JAZZ WITH A MISSION Benefit jazz concert to support programs and services in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties

The Friends of ChildServ will host its 5th annual Jazz Mixer at the Chicago Historical Society on Friday, April 26th from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

CHICAGO, Ill., March 4, 2002 -- The Friends of ChildServ will host its 5th annual Jazz Mixer at the Chicago Historical Society on Friday, April 26th from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. ChildServs mission is to help children and families build better lives through a wide range of programs including day care, tutoring, foster care and adoption, early childhood education, and parenting support. Proceeds from this event will benefit the programs and services of ChildServs 22 locations throughout Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.

Last years event raised an unprecedented amount of funds for ChildServs programs and activities, says Stephanie Acheson of Barrington and Robin Miner of Lincoln Park, co-chairs of The Friends of ChildServs 2002 Jazz Mixer. This year the committee is hoping to not only broaden attendance of the event, but also to increase awareness of ChildServs mission to help children and their families build better lives. The Jazz Mixer is a wonderful way to mix good music and good fun with great benefits to the children and families of ChildServ," add Acheson and Miner.

Guests of the annual Jazz Mixer will enjoy live jazz entertainment, hors doeuvres and a silent auction. The evening will be topped off with a scholarship presentation to a deserving area teen in collaboration with the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. The award recipient will also have the opportunity to showcase their talent during the festivities. Tickets for the event are available for $60 dollars in advance and $75 at the door.
