IDRsolutions release new database version of pdf extraction software

IDRsolutions release the database version of their leading edge pdf extraction product. Extracting Images and text from pdf has never been easier or cheaper.

IDRsolutions announces that they are now shipping the latest version of their Storypad extraction product. This sophisticated Java software (available for Windows, Linux, Solaris and shortly the Mac) provides an intuitive tool for extracting data manually or automatically from Adobe's pdf format without the use of Acrobat.

Storypad is the perfect tool for extracting text and graphics from pdf files. There are a variety of output options, that include XML, XHTML and png/tiff/jpeg for images. A unique feature of the graphics extraction is the ability to access not only the displayed image, but also the original hi-resolution graphic before scaling and clipping.

One of the highlights of the latest version is the additional ability to write out images and text to MySQL or PostgreSQL databases, providing the basis for a very cost-effective Content Management System.

Storypad comes in Enterprise and Personal versions. The personal version is available for just $159 (US dollars) through ePublish Store while the Enterprise product is geared towards large organizations. It is already in live use at News International - Europe's largest Newspaper publisher.

A free and fully functional demo is available on the company's website along with details of planned developments. The software has been in development for three years so far and has benefited from a large amount of user feedback.
