Easter Bunny Signs Largest Egg Contract Yet
with Cool Chick from Missouri

Unless we keep chickens, most of us don't think much about the simple egg because we go to the supermarket and buy it whenever we want. Our biggest decisions are how many, what size and which color? But if you're the Easter Bunny working in Florida, you've got to have a plan and it better be legit.

Most of us living in Florida (15,982,378 according to Census 2000) would be surprised to learn that Florida hens had a January 2002 egg production of 218 million eggs. According to the Florida Agricultural Statistics Service, Florida ranks 6th in the nation for table egg production. That's a lot of eggs to manage

Even with all the eggs we use in spring celebrations, eat at breakfasts, and make into omelets, we're going to need just a few more recipe ideas. The new contract will also allot a whopping 846 eggs for each Floridian to use in these recipes. The contract, signed early this month, is the largest bunny-hen contract signed to date and is aimed at satisfying the demands of egg lovers of the world.

In addition, the newly announced contract has met with high approval from the Easter Bunny (who eagerly admitted he needed an eggable assistant); from the general public (who has openly expressed a desire to get hot & spicy, sweet & sour, or pickled eggs with beets); and from the Floridian Hens Union (for job security and image enhancement of the industry).
