INK JET PRINTS CODES UP TO 64 mm HIGH

The Crayon X-tra large character ink jet printer from Imaje can use water or alcohol based inks allowing coding of both porous and non-porous substrate with one or two lines of type.

Flexibility, reliability and ease of use are the main features of the Crayon X-tra large character ink jet case coder from Imaje. A choice of one or two 7 nozzle or one 16 nozzle print heads provides for one or two line coding with type from 10mm to 64mm high at up to 90 m/min.
The keyboard/display unit with two line, scroll-down LCD display can communicate with and control several printers, keeping hardware investment to a minimum, and a RS232 interface allows network connection to a central control computer. The large memory allows storage, up to 350 product codes of fifteen characters each, simplifies set-up at product changeover and minimises the risk of human input error.

Designed specifically for industrial coding applications, the modular Crayon X-tra is self-contained, robust and has a very high MTBF (mean time between failure). The only supplies required are compressed air with a fixed regulator to 0.5 bar and a 50/60 Hz electrical supply of between 90 and 250 volts at 0.5 A, making integration into an existing production line a quick and simple operation.
The large text memory and 2000 character print buffer combined with the selectable 5, 7, 14 and 16 dot character generators with adjustable pitch and single or double font printing, real time clock, Julian calendar and two counters allow a high level of coding customisation. The operator keyboard/display interface has access protection to minimise operator error by displaying only the required menu and is available in eleven European languages.
The unique head design is easy to clean without the use of special tools to keep maintenance and training costs to a minimum. The Crayon X-tra can use either water or alcohol based inks for coding onto porous or non-porous materials. Black and coloured ink is supplied in easy to change, 4.5 and 30 litre dispensers to match medium and high production rates. Printing can be to the side, top or bottom of the case for easy integration into the packing line.
