Perception Digital Takes Digital Music to the Next Level

PDHercules Digital Recordable Jukebox II

GILFORD, N.H. -- Mar. 12, 2002 -- Imagine a digital recordable jukebox that offers computer-free digital replication of audio CDs and MP3 files. Imagine that you can even save your analogue music collection in a digital format using a simple integrated line-in connection, eliminating any further quality degradation due to storage and handling. Imagine no more! Now, with the release of the PDHercules Digital Recordable Jukebox II (PD-430-01) by Perception Digital (www.perceptiondigital.com), you can own it.

PDHercules is a second-generation digital recordable jukebox that supports audio-CD, CD-ROM, MP3-CD, and CD-R/RW formats. Using the integrated USB port, consumers can even store and playback music from the computer. (PDJockey software included) While most consumers will find the standard 500 CD (approx.) or 300 (approx) hours capacity sufficient, the capacity can be increased to accommodate the most demanding user.

With an embedded Gracenote CDDB database and automatic song recognition, users will match their own album information to over 400,000 CD titles -- and eliminate the need to manually type CD album and song titles, no computer connection needed!

"We are excited to bring PDHercules to market," said Dr. Jack Lau, President of Perception Digital. "It has all the features users have wanted in a computer-free digital storage and playback unit, and then some. In the digital age, PDHercules is a needed element of the home entertainment center."

A two-way, interactive infrared remote with extra-large LCD display and other ergonomic modifications is included and supports both English and Chinese input and display.
Mobile MP3 fans can also enjoy PDHercules by transferring songs from the internal hard drive to a SmartMedia card. Once the songs have been transferred, the user simply removes the SmartMedia card and inserts it into a portable MP3 player.
