First New Novel from William Price Fox in Over 25 Years

William Price Foxs long-awaited new novel begins in his native South Carolina, circa 1941, with 16-year-old Earl Edge: small-town troublemaker running out of options. With police and truant officers on his tail, young Edge sees no way out but to lie about his age and join the Air Force. What follows is a tale, rendered largely in the form of Earl Edge's journal entries, of poignancy and bitterly earned growth, of sweetness and cruelty, of friendship forever formed and lost. It's a gritty and compelling story that depicts World War II from the viewpoint of the guy at the bottom of the totem pole.

William Price Fox is the author Doctor Golf, Ruby Red, Dixiana Moon, and Southern Fried Plus Six. He has taught at the University of South Carolina and the Writers Workshop at the University of Iowa. He lives in Columbia, South Carolina.
