Lisle, IL, Saturday, March 16, 2002 -
DinoClone, the first company to ever attempt to clone extinct species is to begin operations soon. The company, whose goal is to clone and re-animate extinct species for scientific and entertainment purposes, was founded recently by noted University of Chicago geneticist Dr. Bryan Thompson. DinoClone, though quite new, is in its preliminary phase and already has a group of investors who are committed to put up necessary funds to begin operations. The company also has a group of bio-technicians, bio-chemists and other scientists who are committed to join the company. The scientific operations of extracting and analyzing DNA, cloning, re-animation and the incubation and raising of the organisms are expected to take place in Russia, which permit cloning while the administrative operations of DinoClone will stay in the United States. DinoClone will be using a combination of proprietary techniques developed by the company as well as cloning techniques licensed from Bio-Med, the company founded by the scientist that created Dolly" the sheep. DinoClones re-animation and cloning techniques are scheduled to soon be published in a major scientific journal.
