[Santa Barbara, CA] The arrival of Book Four in the on-going series, The Rairarubia Tales, will make many young followers happy. This delightful addition to the tales makes the 28th book published by Professor Emeritus W. Royce Adams of Santa Barbara City College.
When Adams young daughter Kate discovered he had written twenty-two college textbooks, she challenged him to write something she could read, namely the Rairarubia stories that the two of them had made up over the years. The Rairarubia Tales were born with the publication of Rairarubia. To AdamsÂs surprise, the book became a hit with young readers prompting Return to Rairarubia and Raid on Rairarubia. His daughter says he cannot stop writing the Tales until all the characters they made up have been written into the tales. Adams credits his daughter for providing him with a new career that he hopes contributes to the promotion of reading among youngsters.
All four books in the series are in paperback and are priced at $10.95 each.
Adams taught English at Santa Barbara City College for twenty-three years. He earned degrees from Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri) and California State University, Long Beach. He is past-president of the College Reading and Learning Association, a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Authors Guild, and the International Reading Association.
Adams has also authored ME & JAY, a young readerÂs adventure novel, and TEACHER, TEACHER, I DECLARE! AND OTHER LITTLE TATTLE Tales, a collection of short stories about teachers at beginning, middle, and ending stages of their careers.
The books are available in bookstores and online booksellers as well as:
