NetKontent Unfurls VidBanner Video Banner Ads

March 18, 2002/Long Beach, CA - NetKontent Digital Media, a Southern California pioneer in web video and rich media marketing, has introduced VidBanner Video Banner ads. VidBanners will compliment NetKontent's existing web-marketing tool, VmailXpress Videomail, to create a complete and affordable suite of services to dynamically reach audiences via the web.

VidBanner Video Banners now make it possible to embed existing video assets such as product demos, presentations, TV commercials, movie trailers, music videos or customer testimonials into any standard size online banner ad.

"The death of the banner ad has been greatly over-exaggerated," says company founder and CEO Paul Racko. As evidence, he points to properties such as the Wall Street Journal Online, Forbes.com, and Discovery.com who are all now adopting rich-media video ads. Web media analysts Jupiter Media Metrix estimates that streaming video ads will comprise 9% of the market in 2005, compared with 2% in 2001.

NetKontent's Flash-based VidBanner Video Banner Ads play on 98% of all web browsers and are playerless, meaning that they dont require a viewer to have any bulky player software installed on their system. Advertisers will also appreciate that since they are not Java-based, VidBanners are instantly viewable on Windows XP/Internet Explorer 6 systems. The video can be delivered at any user-selected connection speed and the banner can include customized control options to play, pause, mute, fast-forward, and rewind the video.

Offered at extremely affordable entry-level pricing, NetKontent expects VidBanners to strongly challenge its competitors who are charging as much as $750 to embed an existing 30-second TV spot into a banner ad. Until May 15, NetKontent is offering VidBanner Video Banner Ads for an introductory price of $299. Samples are available on the company website at NetKontent.com
