KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE MOVES INTO AUSTRALIA

KMS announces new customer 'down under

March 2002: Knowledge Management Software plc (KMS), following its strategic partnership with E-T Group (eTG) has announced its first Australian customer, AZoM. AZoM is to implement KMSs Domain Knowledge solution in order to significantly enhance its vertical portal functionality.

AzoM is a supplier vertical portal focussing on advanced material information and is designed to allow engineers and users of such materials to match products to their requirements. AzoM has attracted 6000 to 8000 user sessions per month since its launch in September 2001, with this number expected to grow substantially over the next 12 months.

The portal already utilises search capabilities based on keywords and categories. But AZoM recognised the benefits that KMSs Domain Knowledge solution possessed, not only through its natural language search engine, but also through its inherent learning capability i.e. the identification of knowledge gaps'. This critical function allows companies to know what they need to know", and therefore advance their corporate knowledge management.

Domain Knowledge is part of KMSs Knowledge range of products, an integrated set of software solutions that delivers a comprehensive, structured approach to knowledge management. Domain Knowledge combines a tri-dimensional neural network with a highly sophisticated natural language processor, to provide contextually accurate, self-learning, search and retrieval functionality.

Dave Rosalski, CEO of Knowledge Management Software, comments, Our aim is to be a global leader in the provision of knowledge management technology and solutions. We believe this market will be a very successful one for us, and the implementation work we have done with AZoM is proof of that potential."

About AZoM
A totally new concept in the field of Material Science publishing and information provision - AZoM.com (the A to Z of Materials) was formed with the primary aim of increasing the use of Advanced Materials by the engineering and design community worldwide. Over 21 million engineers now use the internet as part of their daily lives, yet the vast majority of them are still unaware what can be achieved by the use of advanced ceramics, novel metallic alloys or state of the art composites. AZoM is here to change that.
The aim of AZoM is to become the primary materials information source for the engineering and design community worldwide. It also aims to be the primary publicist of news, views and developments within the materials science community. However, unlike many other materials related organisations AZoM is totally focussed on the needs of the end users of materials. To achieve this aim, all of the educational, informative and news content on AZoM is easy to access and search and is provided on a free of charge, no subscription, no charge per article, totally free basis.
