CELEBRITIES GO HUNGRY FOR HUNGER --
HOLLYWOOD HUNGER STRIKE INVITES PUBLIC TO JOIN CAUSE
Celebrity charity event invites the public to join them in a fast to raise funds for the eradication of world hunger.
LOS ANGELES, California, March 19 -- The Hollywood Hunger Strike, a premier celebrity charity event will be held on March 30, 2002 in star's homes around the world to eradicate hunger.
On March 30th, celebrities will skip lunch and dinner and contribute the money they would have spent on the two meals to the Hollywood Hunger Strike Fund. Proceeds will go to Zerin Charitable Endowment, Inc. to benefit the poor who suffer from hunger.
Earlier this month, using Microsoft technology, the event website was launched and thousands of celebrities and members of the entertainment industry were invited to participate.
"We invited participants from major studios and record labels, including, Warner Brothers, Disney, Paramount and Sony. We have received a tremendous response from the Hollywood community," said R Scott, 2002 chairman. "At this time, we would like to extend an invitation to the general public to join Hollywood in the fight against hunger and participate on March 30th.
