Boca Raton, FL -- CrossTec Corporation (www.NetOpUSA.com) has released NetOp Remote Control v7.01 which includes client enabled CE - based handhelds to control other PCs running any Windows desktop, DOS or even OS/2 operating system. The NetOp CE Guest" is ideal for network administrators who would like to enter trouble calls, access information, control a PC on the road, or monitor servers without active monitors or keyboards.
NetOp Remote Control v7.01 was designed as a major new release for IT professionals looking for heightened security, speed and multiple connection options. According to Errol Zentmyer, Vice President of Sales for CrossTec Corporation, NetOp was already established as the worlds fastest and most secure remote control technology, This latest version of the award-winning software adds additional security features along with support for controlling distant PCs from a CE device, Windows XP, Linux, or from an Internet Explorer browser using an ActiveX plug in."
Developed by Danware Data A/S, NetOp Remote Control provides users with a fast and secure way to fix problems on PCs and servers across the hallway or across the country. Users can view a remote PCs screen and control its keyboard and mouse just as if they were seated in front of the distant PC. According to industry analysts, remote control software can reduce problem resolution times by more than half.
The NetOp Remote Control CE Guest provides customers with the ability to remote control PCs and servers including XP, Windows 2000, NT, ME, and 98/95 over the TCP/IP (TCP) protocol. Installation of the Windows CE Guest is simple and can be done via a regular synchronization session with a desktop or via a web site. The Setup program analyzes the type of connected device (Pocket PC or hand-held) and the type of processor (SH3, MIPS or ARM), and suggests installing the correct Guest. A user can also download the correct Guest from an Intranet or website if properly licensed and available.
The CE window includes functions for connecting to a PC via an IP address or user/domain name or even to recently controlled PCs. The program includes an option to recall the same desktop upon reconnect if all a user normally does is control the same computer. NetOps CE Guest can also send keyboard combinations such as Ctl + Alt + Del and function keys through a useful Send" menu. Users can zoom in and scroll around the larger desktops screen or the NetOp CE screen can scale the screen size to view the entire screen. The program can also automate mouse key actions and the sending of Alt key combinations and more. The NetOp CE Guest can use the NetOp Gateway Server which acts as a software router for NetOp traffic, NetOp Security Server which provides centralized security and administration options and the NetOp Domain Server which translates a NetOp Hosts dynamic IP address to a user name.
Beta tester Tom Montgomery, President of Remote Visions, Inc. of Santa Clara, is excited about NetOp v7.0 and the Windows CE Guest, The CE guest will enable me to control a PC from my handheld so I no longer have to lug around my notebook computer; this gives me the ability to provide faster support for my customers from virtually anywhere." Users will find many unique and useful ways to take advantage of NetOp for CE -- for example initiating a large print job. A user can now walk to the printer and feed it the correct paper, and using NetOp on a CE handheld initiate the print-job by controlling their office PC. This way they avoid someone else changing paper while they rush to start their print job.
NetOp is available in combined Guest/Host packages or as stand-alone modules for maximum flexibility. Guest/Host packages are available at prices starting at $179 and include the Guest module that will run on any Windows platform including Windows CE. Flexible licensing is available Per User" or Per PC".
