Herman Miller Signs Deal to Install Khameleon Enterprise Software across dealer network
Herman Miller begins implementat of the Khameleon solution for over 40 HMI dealers. The Khameleon solution automates the processes involved in sales, order entry, distribution, service deliveray and client maintenance and support.
Clearwater, Florida¯March 20, 2002¯Khameleon Software, a division of ASA International Ltd. (NASDAQ: ASAA), announced today that Herman Miller Incorporated (HMI) has purchased an enterprise license for Khameleons line of financial and operational management software for their Certified Dealer Network. This announcement confirms Herman Millers commitment to provide a common business-processing platform for its entire Certified Dealer Network using the Khameleon solution. The project involves the rollout of the Khameleon system to over 40 HMI dealers with a longer-term objective of providing a single system to accommodate all transactions between HMI and its dealer community.
The Khameleon solution automates the processes involved in sales, order entry, distribution, service delivery, contracts management and on-going client maintenance and support. The integrated modules provide a common environment for processing transactions throughout the entire customer lifecycle. It is specifically designed for mid-sized organizations operating a project-centric business model.
HMI began its search for an integrated system in 1999. They were looking for a system that could be deployed across their Certified Dealer Network to streamline their accounting, project, and service management processes. Their goals were to find a way to share sales and inventory information to produce reliable market research from the field on customer buying patterns, and to launch an e-commerce initiative through a leaner business management model.
In addition, they were also looking for an integrated system that could alleviate manual processes associated with project accounting, labor tracking, inventory management, financial management and customer service. They wanted a system that was scalable enough to work for both their small and large dealers, and they wanted to take advantage of Oracles premier database technology. After extensive research with many best of breed and niche contract furnishings software players, they found what they were looking for in Khameleon. Its fully integrated business management software satisfied the majority of their channel computing requirements.
According to Eric Heller, Director, Sales Operations Information, The Khameleon applications will create economies of scale in terms of process, best practices, vendor leverage, human resources and shared services. By implementing Khameleon, it is estimated the average sized dealer in our Network will save as much as $250,000 by eliminating inefficient processes with a potential savings of $12,000,000 across the entire Certified Dealer Network."
