WORKING MOTHER ANNOUNCES THE BIRTH OF HER BRAINCHILD, THE BABY WEB, THE FIRST DIRECTORY OF BABY-RELATED WEBSITES.

New mothers never have enough time. Especially if theyre new working mothers. .......That led to her new book, The Baby Web, the worlds first directory of baby-related websites.

New mothers never have enough time.
Especially if theyre new working mothers.

So how did one manage to become an author and publisher? You find time for the things you really want to do", says Kentuckian Gretchen Nalley.

And what she wanted to do was to share with other parents the valuable information she found while pregnant with her son Zachary.

During maternity leave from her job as a
computer systems administrator, she discovered that the World Wide Web included many more baby-related websites than she thought. Websites that were not only informative, but ones that could help her save time and money, and make parenting a little easier.

That led to her new book, The Baby Web, the worlds first directory of baby-related websites.

Within its 200 pages, the web addresses of almost a thousand companies are listed, along with their customer service numbers and a brief description of what each company offers. Theres also an icon that indicates if the company offers a catalog. And all this information is segmented into thirteen different categories. If a young mother wanted to know the web address of a particular brand of clothing, wanted to know more about a great new educational toy, the service number for a recalled car seat, or where to find brand- name merchandise at bargain prices, The Baby Web has
the answers.

As the author Gretchen Nalley says, I searched for a book like The Baby Web because its something I could really use. But there just wasnt anything like that on the market. What Im doing by writing and publishing this book is fulfilling a need that I know exists. With The Baby Web, I feel like Im helping parents turn surfing the web into childs play."

In addition to being available at Amazon.com and in traditional bookstores such as Hawley-Cooke Booksellers in Louisville and Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington, plans now are to market the book directly to various baby-related markets, including infant formula manufacturers, birthing center hospitals, and obstetricians and gynecologists who might want to offer the book as a personalized premium to their customers, as well as Lamaze centers, supermarket chains and hospital gift shops.
There are a lot of companies who could use The Baby Web as a marketing tool", said the author, Its a natural for targeting young, computer-savvy, repeat parents who make purchases online. Not to mention all the parents out there that could use this book. It is a great reference tool."

Those interested in learning more about The Baby Web, or to buy the book online, are encouraged to go to www.TheBabyWebBook.com for more information.
