BRAIN INJURY SURVIVOR -- A CHANCE TO WALK IN HER SHOES

Kara L. Swanson, brain injury survivor and author of Ill Carry the Fork! -- Recovering a Life After Brain Injury, has been a keynote speaker for seven state Brain Injury Association Conferences. Swanson provides information and anecdotes to help survivors, caregivers and family members cope with the "invisible injury". Fellow brain injury survivors are grateful that Swanson has lent them her voice. She speaks for them because often they can't.

With the wit and humor of an Ellen DeGeneres, the knowledge and experience of a successful businessperson, and a team of professionals supporting her every effort, Swanson packs a hit-home punch that resonates with survivors, caretakers and health professionals alike. She provides been there" insight with practical suggestions for coping. I wrote this book because the understanding of traumatic brain injury is limited even among medical professionals, much less the average 'civilian", writes Swanson. Attorney Charles N. Simpkins, at the conclusion of his section on legal direction in Ill Carry the Fork!, writes, ...Kara Swanson looks up from her injury and says, How can I help others?". I am honored that I was asked to contribute to her book."

Comments from Swanson's audience:
"Excellent! Superb"
"This was the highlight of my day!"
"I am a caregiver for persons with brain injury and wish I could have heard her talk prior to beginning working with them."
