InphoMatch Establishes SMS SMPP Developers Forum SMS Leader Encourages Partnerships for SMS-Based Applications

InphoMatch, Inc., the leading provider of inter-carrier messaging solutions for global wireless telecommunications operators, has announced that the company is sponsoring a Short Message Service (SMS) SMPP Developers Forum for firms and developers who seek to collaborate on SMS-based applications.

Chantilly, VA, March 19, 2002-InphoMatch, Inc., the leading provider of inter-carrier messaging solutions for global wireless telecommunications operators, has announced that the company is sponsoring a Short Message Service (SMS) SMPP Developers Forum for firms and developers who seek to collaborate on SMS-based applications. With more U.S. wireless carriers introducing text-messaging services to their subscribers every week, InphoMatch is looking ahead to innovative messaging solutions that will generate new revenue streams for carriers and deliver genuine value to enterprises and end users.

SMS is the first true data application on wireless devices that has attracted wholesale acceptance by wireless subscribers," said Colin Matthews, president and CEO of InphoMatch. In the current communications environment, it only makes sense to leverage this advantage by developing applications areas that benefit the carriers."

Developers can gain insight into carrier requirements for meeting consumer demands, while the SMS SMPP Developers Forum will afford carriers a window on the developer community and the protocols application providers employ. SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) refers to one of the standard messaging protocols, or carrier connections, InphoMatchs SMS interoperability platform InphoXchange accommodates for routing text and data messages among disparate networks.

Responding to InphoMatchs announcement, the CEO of Mobile Streams, Simon Buckingham, said, With the efficiency and effectiveness of SMS as a bearer, such a forum does make perfect sense. Were pleased to see InphoMatch extending its leadership in SMS interoperability to now encompass applications development."

InphoMatch plans to host round table sessions periodically throughout the year to exchange information and share experiences. In addition, participants will enjoy access to the companys proof-of-concept system for testing. Interested parties should contact Dave Neyland, InphoMatch vice president of engineering (703) 961-8300, ext.300 or Dave.Neyland@inphomatch.com for session dates, time, location and other details.
