Timely Release of Novel Propels Award-Winning "This is the Place" To Sales Honors
Post 9/11 interest in tolerance fuels this new novel's sales.
Carolyn Howard-Johnson, author of "This is the Place," was named one of the first members of her publisher's elite authors' group, the Mille Club. Membership is awarded on the basis of book sales and promotion.
Valerie Susan Hayward, Consultant and former Senior Editor at Harlequin/Silhouette is quoted as saying this award-winning book is "fabulous."
Howard-Johnson attributes the book's success to the fact that it is "just a good story," but admits that the fact that it explores intolerance and was released just before 9/11 made it a media darling. She also felt that interest in it was high because it is set in Salt Lake City, the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics (c). Interviews on this author have aired many TV programs and on more than 400 radio stations (including syndication) in the last few months.
The publisher of "This is the Place," is AmErica House, Baltimore, Md. It is a division of the international conglomerate Publish America.
Howard-Johnson's fiction also appears in two recently published anthologies, "Pass Fail," edited by Rose A. O. Kleidon, and "Calliope's Mousepad," edited by Sarah Mankowski.
