North Forest Independent School Distrist Classes of 1982 come Together to Host their Twenty-Year Class Reunion
The Classes of Forest Brook and Smiley High School of the North Forest Independent School District graduating class of 1982 has joined together to celebrate their twenty year class reunion. The two schools had a combined class size of 997. "Two Schools, One Class, One Purpose."
The planning committee members have been meeting on a monthly basis to make the reunion a most memorable event. The class members are not only celebrating their passage into adulthood through their high school graduation, but they are celebrating the fact that they are still alive and richly blessed to live out their dreams, goals, and aspirations over the past twenty years.
Many of the class members attended elementary or middle school together, but were separated at the crossroads of their high school years. The idea of seeing a long lost friend from elementary or middle school is a joyous occasion in itself. Not only will the class members celebrate their 20th year class reunion, but they will also celebrate the unity of Forest Brook and Smiley Class of 1982.
The committee members stated "the excitement is building and we want everyone to be a part of this historic event." The reunion dates are August 9-11, 2002. The weekend plans will include a meet and greet, banquet, worship service, and a picnic The guest speaker for the Saturday night banquet will be Dr. Freeman of Texas Southern University. Dr. Freeman was the commencement speaker for Smiley graduating class of 1982. The committee members are making a plea to all of the members of the two classes to join them in making the joint reunion an occasion to remember.
