Los Angeles based record label, Music Medicine Inc. set to release two new albums through a new seven disc project. The new series will mark the first of several that will focus on alternative styles of music, with an emphasis on eclectic Jazz and tributes to great songwriters. Scheduled for release on April 2, 2002, Stuart Aptekar, Chili Dog at Midnight", will debut the new venture, followed on April 9, 2002 by the release of Jack Surrell, When Lora Smiles".
Recently, founder and producer Bernard Besman received the RIAA nomination for the Best Song of the 21th Century for his contributions on the John Lee Hooker classic Boogie Chillen'. Besman intends to use this nomination in conjunction with his past successes as a means to introduce people to the physical and mental benefits of recorded music. Similar to sex, food and drugs, music affects brain chemistry, releasing endorphins that simulate deep relaxation."-Dr. Michael Farzam Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
