Electronic House Expo Spring 2002: Successful Turnout for Connected Home Industry's Premiere Event

8,000 Connected Home Professionals Registered for 3rd Annual Event, Spurring 50 Percent Increase in Exhibit Space Reservations for 2003 Show

Wayland, MA -- March 26, 2002 - Electronic House Expo, the fastest growing event for connected home professionals drew strong crowds at its third annual EHX Spring 2002 expo and conference in Orlando, Fla. March 6-9. Thousands of professionals dedicated to delivering connected homes to consumers converged at EHX Spring 2002 to see the latest products and participate in the most diverse educational program available for this burgeoning industry.

"EHX achieved a new and higher level of stature in the industry with the Spring 2002 event. It has been established as the industry event where participants go to sense the pulse of the industry, see the newest available products, and network with their peers," stated John Galante, vice president at EH Events and Education, producers of the event. "Exhibitors and attendees alike have expressed their strong satisfaction with the show, and its reflected in exhibit space reservations that are about 50 percent up for the 2003 event."

The Exhibit Floor
Among the highlights of EHX/Spring 2002 was an expansive exhibit floor, allowing attendees to demonstrate, order and compare the hottest products for the connected home. Major categories of product represented were home networking, home automation, distributed audio, home theater, and security. ADEMCO, ADI, Channel Vision Technologies, ELAN Home Systems, GE Interlogix, GE SMART, Home Director, Leviton, Lightolier, Mitsubishi, OnQ Technologies, Panasonic, Premise Systems, Recoton/ARS, Russound, Terk Technologies, Vantage Controls, and Zenith were among the 126 companies in 70,000 gross square foot (a 16 percent increase from 2001's Spring EHX), showcasing their connected home products to installers, integrators, dealers, retailers and builders of connected homes. According to exhibitors:

"The Spring Electronic House Expo has become a dynamic collection of home networking and connectivity companies. Russound is particularly excited that distributed audio is becoming a hot category for the EHX community." Peter Hoagland, director of marketing, Russound.

"If you're interested in selling or buying automation, control or networking products, then Electronic House Expo is the place to be." Duane Paulson, vice president, GE Interlogix, Inc.

"Once again Electronic House Expo has proven to exceed expectations. The combination of excellent education and training, high quality attendees and valuable keynote sessions set this show apart from other industry events." Dave Hanchette, Vice President of Marketing, OnQ Technologies.

"Clearly there are a growing number of professional installers who are recognizing the enormous potential of the home networking market and they are attending EHX to find quality manufacturers in their respective home markets." Tom Guzek, vice president of marketing, TII Network Technologies.

The Industry Conference Program
Industry training and education for integrators, installers, computer VARs and builders was another presiding theme of the 2002 Spring EHX. More than 600 attendees took part in seminars, full-day workshops, keynotes and exhibitor-offered training classes. The CEA-sponsored Home Automation and Networking Boot Camp, the Planning Whole-House Audio Infrastructure & Controls in New Construction seminar and the CE Pro Dealer Panel Sales seminar were several of the standing-room-only sessions offered at the EHX conference program.

The Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) new TechHome Division kicked off their official sponsorship of Electronic House Expo with an exclusive member lounge on the expo floor and the annual Mark of Excellence (www.ce.org/moe) Awards Ceremony and Banquet, recognizing the finest achievements in home automation and networking.

EH Events & Education, event organizers, are conducting an attendee research study to survey attendee demographics, buying power and purchasing interests, and will announce the results upon completion. For more information, contact Nancy Rolfe at 508-358-3400 x234.
