WORLD WIDE WEB HELPING THE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION PROSPER AND SAVE MONEY

Surrey based E-CC (E-Commerce Consortium) has just supplied the European Modern Restaurant Association (EMRA) with a new web site and an Internet database providing an on-line document library.

Guildford based E-CC (E-Commerce Consortium) has just supplied the European Modern Restaurant Association (EMRA) with a new web site and an Internet database providing an on-line document library.

EMRA are represented globally by 9 major restaurant & fast-food chains including Whitbread, Tricon, McDonalds and Burger King. "Communications between such a large and disparate group was becoming both expensive and complicated" said Mark Kerr Director of Public Affairs at Whitbread "Before the creation of the Intranet site, EMRA spent thousands of pounds distributing documents across restaurant chains throughout Europe. With our new web site we now have one area to keep the public informed ,as well as an encrypted private area for our members." He was happy that he could trust E-CC knowing its excellent track record, knowledge and commitment to deliver on time, to budget and specification. It is refreshing to deal with such a flexible and professional organisation" said Mr. Kerr.

Nigel Sedgwick, Managing Director of E-CC was very proud to have supplied this order saying "There was a need for EMRA to have a central hub, a virtual library which is now used to publish new documents quickly and efficiently to all its members spread out over more than 27,000 restaurants".

"Many companies are not aware of just how much control they can have over their own websites by using information held in a self managed database. The content can be changed daily and a web site suddenly becomes much more than just an electronic brochure."

The business community is just beginning to wake up to the potential of transferring key business applications on to the Web and we at E-CC are very excited to be able to provide the means to deliver this functionality. In such a challenging economic climate, it is a great shame that many people still do not understand how much the Internet can achieve for their businesses".

The EMRA web site can be viewed at www.emrarestaurants.com and E-CC's at www.e-cc.org.
