Toronto, Canada  On The Wall & matrix produxions are pleased to announce a North American journalism contest pertaining to a 13-part investigative current affairs series targeting youth (18-25), entitled, ÂU On The Wall, which both companies are currently developing and co-producing for broadcast television. U On The Wall programming content will also be distributed via Internet and wireless appliances.
Producers of the series, Jill A. Mackie of matrix produxions and Marilyn Bromberg of On The Wall are seeking three (3) on-air journalists to be selected from within Canada and the U.S. to report for ÂU On The Wall. The U On The Wall contest also incorporates a search for a North American composer who will create the theme music for this series.
Conveys Bromberg, ÂThe three journalists must be between the ages of 18-25. Once selected, they will have the opportunity to travel within North America reporting on featured episodes for U On The Wall. The participants will be paid for their contribution to the program and reside in Toronto, Canada for the duration of the program production this summer.Â
States Mackie, ÂWe are also opening up the U On The Wall contest to music composers within North America between the ages of 18-25. As with the selected three journalists, the winning composer will be paid for their contribution to U On The Wall, in addition to receiving full recognition throughout the series.Â
Mackie announced today that Marilyn Bromberg, in addition to her co-producer position, would take on the role of host/anchor of U On The Wall. Bromberg possesses an extensive journalism background, in addition to a strong on-air presence. Comments matrix produxions executive producer Jill Mackie, ÂMarilyn represents the image we want for this program. She fits the target demographic, has a dynamic on-air presence, and the skill set, talent and energy to be the driving force behind U On The Wall.Â
ÂThe great effort IÂve put into my journalism career is paying off into what is ultimately my big break, says Bromberg. ÂI cannot wait to help other young journalists experience this great feeling when they receive their opportunity.Â
Relates York UniversityÂs Bill Woof, professor of Business History & Ethics at the Schulich School of Business, ÂMarilyn's writing and journalism is highly engaging and exuberant; she never fails to draw out the human interest in any of the subjects she tackles. What can never be obscured for a moment is the writer's personality: vivacious, concerned and committed.Â
In order to enter the U On The Wall contest, journalist applicants and theme music composers should view all relevant details at On The WallÂs website: http://www.onthewallnow.com. The contest deadline for both journalists and music composers is Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 5pm.
ÂIf you know anyone, anyone at all who is a journalist, encourages Bromberg, Âplease tell them about this contest so they can apply to get their big break!Â
